Default Knocked tooth?

He got spooked late last night and ran madly around his cage, has managed to bash his face and knock one of his teeth.

At the time he terrified me as all I could see was blood on his facearound his nose and mouth, the bleeding stopped quite quickly and he cleaned himself up but kept sneezing.

We went to the vet today, thankfully he's really good to handle so she was able to have a good look, he's knocked one of his top front incisors. She thinks this has gone up and cause the bleeding from his nose and mouth, has said to keep him on soft foods for the next few days.

He won't drink from his bottle so I'm offering drops for him to lick off the end of the syringe at the moment. He also won't really eat the soft foods, have tried porridge (he ate a little of this last night after it happened), carrot cooked really well, scrambled egg and soaked hamster food (this had the best result).

I can get him some baby food tomorrow but is there anything else I can try?

If he's not better by next week they want to see him back again but I will go back sooner if I can't get him to eat anything at all.

Sorry to hear this, it's a shame he doesn't enjoy porridge but he should do ok if you can find some baby foods he likes, get a selection avoiding any with onion or leeks & hopefully you'll find something he likes.
Find a small shallow bowl for water, he should be able to drink from that ok.
Did the vet give any pain meds? It may just be too painful for him to eat much at the moment.
Hope he improves soon.

No pain meds given unfortunately I'm back tonight with my dog anyway so if I think he's in much pain when I get home from work I'll take him with us (very lucky to have a hamster that loves people and isn't stressed by car rides!)

He's eaten about a table spoon of the softened pelleted food so I'm much happier now that he's actually eaten something

He's eaten more softened pelleted food and looks like he may be using hr knocked tooth, just praying now that it doesn't become over grown once he's back on normal food because of the misalignment

The poor thing! I'm so glad that he is eating now. I really hope he gets back to normal really soon. Sending him best wishes.

Good to hear he's eating some foods now, fingers crossed he'll be fine & you won't have problems with misalignment but try not to worry too much, although it can be difficult that is manageable.

I'm very lucky in the fact he's super friendly and happy to be handled by anyone, the vet was shocked at how friendly, and not really stressed by much

The eye on the same side is a bit weepy and keeps getting stuck shut, I've been cleaning it and hoping that will help but it hasn't so I'm going to take him back to the vets tomorrow evening

It's possible the tooth root may have impacted on the eye, I hope it's nothing too serious though & it will get better soon.

No infection or anything in the eye which is good! She thinks it's pain related, so has given us metacam and wants to see him again in a week.

We saw a different vet this time and she was much better, the last one made me feel stupid for taking him in (almost like ffs it's a hamster) but this one had a good look in his mouth as well and is happy with how that's looking.
