Default I dropped my hamster.

Hi, I was holding my hamster today to check her over. She fell from my chest height and I'm 5ft 7 onto carpet, shes completely acting normal, she didnt even freeze up.
I completely can't afford to take her to the vets as I already owe my bf £30 from taking her last time (not from a fall).
Do you reckon shell be ok, I'm so stressed?
Thank you in advance.

If she is acting normally and is not showing any visible signs of injury that is a good start. I would monitor her closely over the next 24hrs, looking out for any unusual behaviour, particularly stiffness when she walks, hunched over posture, ears back and any obvious swelling that she may develop. If all appears normal then she is probably fine.

I hope this is the case. They can be very squirmy and it is easy to drop them if they wiggle out of one's hand. I try to handle my hamsters only if I am seated but I know this isn't always practical or possible.

Thank you.
It was a complete accident, my mum stroked her and she panicked. I meant to say I couldn't take her to the vets unless absolutely necessary.

Happens to the best of us so don't panic. Just monitor her for a couple of days like Veirville suggested.

If it happens again don't pick her up straight away, allow her to move around a bit first. You'll be able to judge if she's hurt then. Obviously some injuries take longer to show.

2 of my cages are on the floor so I can be sat by them. 2 are higher up so I have a chair there. Another way is to put them in a cup and carry them to a safe place then. All mine are in my room so my bed isn't far so I put some fleece down so they don't pee on my bed. They can have an explore and climb all over me with a soft landing if they fall

Hamsters seem to like doing that, and as they have thick fur it usally isn't a problem.
