HELP!!! Not sure if hamster is dying :’(
I have a robo he is around 18 months old, he recently developed a lump but I haven’t found a vet that specialises with hamsters yet so haven’t had him checked out, he’s been fine since he had the lump hasn’t lost appetite and is still drinking plenty being his normal self.
I noticed earlier that he looked extremely still so I stroked him and got no response, I took him out of his cage and he was barely opening his eyes and felt very cold to the touch, however he was still breathing very shallow. The more I held him the more he came back to normal, started running around again and acting fine, so I put him back in his cage and the same thing happened, his breathing went shallow and he hardly moved so I got him out again and repeated the same process - he is now back up and moving around again, but is still quite cold but he keeps stopping for a few seconds and moving a little then stopping again.
The temperature in my bedroom where I keep him is 22 degrees! I have a thermometer next to his cage to monitor the temperature at all times to make sure he is never too cold.
I have a wheat bag with a blanket over to try and warm him up but he just keeps running off of it, to then go sit somewhere and stop moving again then move somewhere else and stop moving,
What do I do?! Is my hamster dying? I’m so upset I really don’t know what to do, someone please help me on any ideas what this could be and if I can save my baby! 😭😭😭

Oh Honey, I know exactly how you feel. I went through the very same thing with my pet mouse. You are keeping your baby warm, cozy and Loved. I will say a prayer for your little Hammy.
