Red stuff in cage
Hi,
Just now I went to my Syrian hamster, Lily’s, cage and I found some of the bedding was red. I don’t know if it’s blood or not. I asked all my siblings if they’ve given lily a grape/strawberry/any other red fruit but they said no.
I’m really scared that it is blood...
I have pictures of it but I don’t know how to send pictures on here.
Please help!

Re: Red stuff in cage
Instead of selecting 'post quick reply' go to 'go advanced' then 'manage attachments' > 'browse' (select the image) > 'upload. Then it should have the image file name where it says manage attachment.
We can help you out better then.
Is there any dyed things in the cage like wood? Colour can bleed when mixed with water or urine. Obvious one is food but you've covered that. Have you checked her over fo any cuts? Maybe caught a nail on something?

Re: Red stuff in cage
I check my hammys daily for any anomolous marks or cuts..if there is alot of it I'd be concerned.. smell it.. blood has an irony tinge to it.
