Default Re: Would a hamster attempt to chew a sewing needle?

Personally, if I had even the slightest suspicion that I may have dropped a needle in my hamster’s cage I would empty out the cage immediately and replace all the substrate and bedding as well as checking through the food hoard/s (yes I know that sounds drastic and stressful for the hamster but I’m a person who prefers to be safe than sorry).

I don’t think a hamster would actually eat a sewing needle, but they might try chewing on it or pouching it or, if it’s just in the substrate somewhere, it may jab the hamster when the hamster is burrowing or going about their business.
