Default Help! My hamster is acting normal but has dried blood around nose?

Hi!
My hamster Mandy is around 3 months old and a female winter white

Recently she has been acting completely normal. Playing, burrowing, eating, sleeping, grooming all have been normal.

She has no discharge from her ears or eyes and has a clean coat, but around her nose on one side there is a little dried blood.

She doesn't really have a nose bleed as it isn't from her nostrils it's just around one side, like where the fur is a little thinner.

Does anyone know what may have caused this? She does burrow under her flying saucer and she could have hit into it, but I'm just really worried.

I use aspen shavings and kayte unscented paper bedding and shes in a large aquarium tank.

This may be a silly question but are you sure that its blood and not a bit of red fruit?

It could be mucus (hamsters have red mucus) or porphyrin rather than blood, which may indicate an allergy or irritation.

It may have happened if she's been playing and caught it on a toy or been chewing the bars on the cage. Sometimes some wooden toys have rough bits on it.

There is no way of knowing what your hamster gets up to. So long as she is acting fine, there is no need to worry about something like that. it should go away over time.

She loves to sleep under her kaytee wood hut, so that would probably explain it

The spot on her nose seems to be healing so she definitely just banged into something (:

Thanks for the responses, I was just worried about my lil ham
