Question 4 year Old hamster sick ! Any advise on food please? I’ve tried everything

Hi , all I’m new to this so bare with me when I try and find my way around. I have a four year old Syrian . He’s never suffered any problems with his health at all, until about 4 days ago. I checked him and had him out the night before which he was his usual happy self.
24 hours later, I got him out I realised he had a tilted head and was really off balance , his stomach like a balloon all swollen.
I took him to the vets the next day , she diagnosed a growth in his stomach .
She’s given him metacam and sulfatrim for a week, she said he doesn’t appear to be in pain and no need to think about getting him pts just yet.

I’m trying to keep him happy in his old age with these illnesses which he has, but I am running out of ideas to what other foods to give him.
At the moment all he’s eating is small amount of strawberry every night.
I’ve tried baby food, he used to love egg but he’s gone off it, porridge he doesn’t really touch and he literally just picks little bits out of his food.

Does any one have any ideas to what I can give him as a daily meal? I know fruit everyday can cause stomach upsets but it’s the only thing he will eat and enjoy at the moment.

Any help about food or his condition I’ll much appreciate, it’s breaking me to see him unwell x

My elderly hamsters in the past have always liked pureed foods, making your own baby food but including protein.

I included boiled potatoes, carrots, broccoli, any veg really that can be softened and safe for them.
Some of their normal hamster food, even mealworms, for fibre and protein, added to some hot water. Add this to the boiled veg and blend well. I also added boiled chicken as my hamsters always loved chicken.

These can be placed in ice cube trays and freeze, I find them a good portion size.
Heat them thoroughly, then cool till their a good temp to touch, mine always prefered the food warm.
I wouldn't re-heat the food as a concern about bacteria growth.

I'm not sure about the condition, unless it's just old age.
Sounds like you really love your hamster and have kept him happy and healthy for many years. 4 is quite old for a hamster, so you must have done a really good job
