Question Hammie has Black Spots on Ears

Hello,

I have noticed my hamster has black splotches on her ears. Is this normal, or something I should be concerned about?

Thank you!

Do the spots look like they are part of the skin? If so, it could just be that her skin has black patches, Annabell had that and they are completely normal.

If you hamster is a patterned hamster then it is normal to have blotchy ears. This happens because of the pattern in banded hamsters, dominant spots and roans. Sometimes other colours have slightly mottled ears if the pigment is not evenly spread.

They do kind of look like they are part of her skin. She is tan with white patches on her back, would that be considered a patterned hamster? Thank you!
