Default Russian Dwarf Bleeding from anus!! Urgent help needed!!

Okay so I’m writing a new thread with all info here.

I have a Russian Dwarf hamster called Marnie and she is roughly 7 months old. A few weeks ago she bit me and I accidentally flung her because as I whipped my hand away in shock, she was still biting me. She landed a foot away and I was nealt down close to the ground when it happened so didn’t fall from standing, sitting on a chair etc. Next day I found blood by her anus, fresh blood.

PLEASE READ:
* I HAVE seen a vet. 3 appointments and a video call initially with First Vet.
* She was prescribed Metacam and Co-Trimoxazole for 5 days.
* She is still eating and drinking.
* She is not dehydrated.
* Her poo looks fine.
* She is pretty much acting her normal self, biting me, being grumpy, running on her wheel, still looking bright and acting curious - this is all normal for her!
* It is definitely coming from her anus and not her vagina.

So she was on meds for 7 days in the end as agreed by Vet that I saw the following Monday (it was discovered on the Friday) and who seemed happy with her. She had no meds that Saturday and then on Sunday she had blood again!! No blood during the whole time on her meds. Took her in as an emergency and advised to continue meds again but this time try just one of the meds for a few days and if nothing changes to swap to over meds to see if we can see which medication helped in the first place but nothing has changed. I am now trying the other meds and nothing.

We have an appointment on Wednesday for a follow up. The First Vet recommended the practice I’m going to as dealing with exotic pets and she got a thorough check including a good feel during the first visit and the vet said she couldn’t feel anything sinister. The second vet said that because the blood is fresh it’s likeley that it’s very close to the anus Entrance and it’s unlikely to be a tumour because of her age and that they couldn’t feel anything. Nothing is swollen or looking unwell down there.

I live in the UK and the closest exotic hospital is over an hour away but if this is still happening by our next vet visit I’m going to seek a second opinion. The vets have said that they can’t do much as they don’t do ultrasounds and such for tiny pets and they seem at loss as to what it could be.

It’s not dripping or pooling but at the moment there is enough to smear on me when she wiggles on me. Since yesterday it seems to have gotten a little worse. As of today I have stopped giving her fresh veg as I’ve read a couple of times on the net that too much fresh veg can cause it. I think I’ll try giving her the meds together again to see how that helps.

With all this in mind, has anyone got any idea of what might be wrong with her? Please don’t tell me to take her back to the vets, it’s been near enough 3 weeks now with very little change apart from the blood has not stopped. I’m doing everything I can right now but if someone has experienced something similar some advice would be great.
