Exclamation Do new hamsters need probiotic supplements?

I got a new hamster Raichu a week ago. For the past few days I have noticed he is starting to have some soft poos, some of which are a bit lighter than the typical black/dark brown normal poops. Aside from that they still have the pellet shape, and dry into looking like the normal ones within a couple Hours. I have not fed him any fresh foods.

However I’m concerned with the beginnings of diarrhea/wet tail since my previous hammy died from it, so I have been feeding Raichu pea-sized amounts of Benebac (it says on the instructions to use anytime an animal experiences dietary or environmental changes).

Do you guys think it’s normal for hamsters to have some soft stools? Should I keep feeding him the Benebac probiotic? Or do you think it’s ineffective/making things worse?
