White patches on ear! Fungal infection?
As soon as my vet’s phoneline opens I’m making an appointment for him but I thought it’s best to ask here for advice since I’ve never dealt with this before.
Peach has a large white patch on his ear, it appeared 2 days ago as what resembled a patch of dry/irritated skin and has rapidly grown in size since. The edges of the patch have an almost burnt look as well.
My guess is it’s some form of fungal infection which I’m hoping can be treated easily with medication. I’m not sure if I should move his bin into a separate room away from the other hammies?

Re: White patches on ear! Fungal infection?
While I can't offer any information in terms of the actual medical condition, I will say that moving his bin into a different room would be best as well as keeping up good hygiene practices between both rooms(washing hands between handling anything of his preferably washing up to the elbows etc).
Even if he may not have anything contagious, there's a good chance if it isn't fungal but is an allergic reaction somehow his immune system could already be weakened so you'll want to minimize germ exposure and such as much as humanly possible.

That what I was thinking, better to be extra cautious than to risk his and the other hamsters’ health.
