Default Fur loss reappearing after seemingly clearing up?

Hi everybody.

In April our one little Russian Dwarf girl, Monty, who is 1 year and 1 month old, developed a small patch on her chest that was missing fur and the skin at the site looked quite raw. We never noticed her licking or scratching and it didn't seem to bother her at all, certainly not that we ever saw.

We took her to the vet and the vet took a scraping and said that although she could not find a clear infestation of mites, she would treat her for mites through a series of noromectin injections, once a week for four weeks.

We also immediately changed her bedding (and all our little guys' bedding) from wood shavings to care fresh paper bedding.

After four weeks, we noticed a complete recovery and the fur grew back. This was in May. The last two days, we've noticed fur loss and raw looking skin in EXACTLY the same spot...

What are the chances that mites would return in exactly the same spot? Has anybody experienced the same thing?

She hasn't had any unusual stress, she's on the same food which is very balanced (Versele-Laga Mini Hamster Nature mixed with some extra sunflower seeds, pecan nuts and supplemented every day with meal worms and a small plate of fresh veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, spinach, carrot and green bean) and the only thing that has changed is that she has a new little neighbour, a winter white dwarf whose cage is next to hers.

I'm quite baffled.
