Default Experience with wet tail/diarrhea?

My hamster has diarrhea (I'm suspecting it might be wet tail but hopefully I'm wrong). I got him treated at the vets and have the antibiotics.

I just wanna know if anyone here has had any experience with their hamster having wet tail and if so, how soon did you catch the symptoms and whether or not you went to the vet. Most of all I wanna know if your hammy ended up surviving... the vet told me that even if my hamster does have wet tail (she more concluded that it was just simply bad diarrhea) it would be in the early stages and that his chances look good since we caught it early and that he's not lethargic. But I wanna know what are the chances of a hamster surviving wet tail even after treatment, because I hear it's fatal. So that's why I'm asking for your guys' experiences.
