Hamster wit growth or infection in mouth

Our hamster has some sort of growth or infection in his mouth. Has anybody seen this before, I am not sure what to do? We gave him lettuce to eat tonight and will see if he can. I attached a picture, any help is appreciated

He needs to see a vet. They can get mouth tumours but it could also be an abscess in the tooth root or a tooth that has been moved and is growing wrong. I would feed soft foods like babyfood or porridge and soak his hamster food so he can at least eat something and get him seen urgently as this will be painful. I hope the vet can help him.

I took her to the vet this morning and it is a growth. Not much we can do. It looks like the tooth may have pierced the growth. We have an anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic. Hopefully, it shrinks it just a little so that the hamster can eat. She is still active and acting normal, so we will proceed with her course of medicine. Unfortunately, her days are limited.
