Concerned about Chinese Dwarf
Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum.
I am a bit concerned about my Chinese Dwarf. She's 1 year 9 months, so I've been trying to pay a little extra attention to her health.
Today, I noticed that Luna's tail looked a bit weird. It seemed like there was less fur on her rear, and that her tail may have had a bump (but I may have been overanalyzing). Her overall demeanor seems completely normal, and she didn't appear to be in pain when I touched it.
It doesn't look like wet tail, and she has been eating completely fine. I'm just concerned about her and wanted some of y'alls opinions. I am planning on calling the vet tomorrow.
Photos attached are of Luna's tail and of her cute face right now!

Re: Concerned about Chinese Dwarf
I think I'd have this checked by a vet. Can she still move her tail? It does look as if she has caught it on something or fallen and possibly broken the tail. It depends on how mach damage has been done. It may be a case of some anti-inflammatory pain killer and see how it goes for now watching it carefully for any sign of spreading blackness on the tail which could indicate the circulation has been cut off. Check it very closely for anything like even a hair wrapped around the tail. You may need a magnifying glass to see that. She is lovely

Re: Concerned about Chinese Dwarf
Hi. Thank you for your kind words. The vet said she likely has an adrenal disease given her old age. They gave my two medicines, but Luna’s hair loss has continued. She’s still running on her wheel, eating, and drinking, so I’m hopeful. I’m not ready to lose my baby.
