Question Redness behind ears

I was filming my little guy drinking his water and noticed a bit of redness behind his ears. Not sure if I saw it before so I just wanted to ask if I should be concerned?

It looks like he’s been scratching in that area and lost some hair, have you noticed extra scratching? Sometimes their nails are too long which can lead to hair loss too. How old is he? They usually lose hair as they age but this looks more like a concentrated patch to me.

Has he been scratching more than normal? The fur is usually a bit thinner there but it does look as though there could be some hair loss.
It could possibly be mites or something in the cage irritating his skin although that's unlikely if it's just behind his ears.
I would keep an eye on it & see how it goes for now.

haven't noticed any unusual scratching and nothing new has been added to his cage.
I don't know exactly how old he is but I got him 2 months ago so he can't be that old.
I'll keep an eye on him for a few days and if it stays red, I'll find a vet I can take him to.
thanks
