Default Black scent gland

Hello,

My hamsters scent gland feels hard and is black. It has always stuck out and is hard. To be honest I have never looked at it before because I assumed it was normal.
Is it normal for a campbells dwarf hamster to have a black scent gland? He is about 2 years old now. He is the only campbells dwarf I have ever had so I have nothing to compare it to. I have seen that syrians have dark scent glands but I dont know if dwarf hamsters can too.

Thanks. I am quite tired and worried writing this so I hope it made sense.
