I dropped my hamster! Please help!
Hey guys today I was taking my Syrian hamster Mapel out to play when she wiggled in my hands and fell to the floor! My floor is wooden! She landed on her back and then turned back into her front. I panicked and picked her up and in her play pen. She was walking fine and I checked she wasn’t breathing heavy. She was running on her wheel also and eating food. I’m just really worried. Will she be okay?

She'll be fine, if she's not showing any symptoms and she's moving around with no complaints. It's happened to everyone on this forum, and hamsters are quite "bouncy." However, I will keep an eye on her just in case and if you notice anything abnormal I would make an appointment with your vet.

She should be fine.
Hamsters are quite resilient and can take most falls without any issues.
As Abi said, I think all of us on here have dropped our hamsters by accident. I've accidentally dropped my dwarf onto a tiled floor. I still feel horrible to this day.
Just keep an eye on her for a few days to make sure no symptoms pop up.

Thank you also for replying. I guess it was bound to happen one day so I’ll just make sure I won’t do it again x

Re: I dropped my hamster! Please help!
As everyone else has said so long as she isn't showing any symptoms she should be okay. Do keep a close eye on her though because since hams are natural prey animals they tend to hide if they're hurt or ill.

I have a couple of big floor cushions under/in front of the cage for that reason

Re: I dropped my hamster! Please help!
They are very resilient.
If there moving fine and happy to run on their wheel, probably no injury.
They make it known if they are in pain.
Mine finds it as an opportunity to try and run behind the cupboard
