Just an extra thought on the food theme... Dora went crazy for peas (just the frozen ones, defrosted and brought to room temperature). A semi-soft, semi-hard food she liked also came from the babyfood aisle: strawberry and banana melts made from puree (cooked to a consistency like tough marshmallow - not sticky) and baby food biscuits (I bought ones made with oats and apple juice; nothing else added) which i added to a splash of hot water and turned into a sort of paste and she loved this even more than porridge. The other great tempting treat was cooked and cooled couscous, which she would lick off my finger...
