Exclamation Helpppp bleeding hamster

So my hamster hes a 2 year old syrian hamster and and he doesnt really move as much as he used to and he waddles a lot. I try to play with him daily but today when i took him out i noticed a piece of wood bedding stuck in his bum and he was bleeding. It looked painful and i was scared to pull it out because with splinters you have to usually pull it out and i didnt want to hurt him. I dont know what else to do because my parents wont let me go to the vet at all. please help

You’ll need to carefully remove the splinter and clean the wound with saline solution. It should heal quickly but check his bedding to make sure theres no other sharp pieces. You might need to replace his bedding with something softer like carefresh, fitch, or kaytee clean & cosy.

To make saline solution mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt with cool boiled water.

I am so sorry - he probably had a rupture of some kind and it was his time - at least he didn't suffer for a long time. He was a great age and you must miss him a lot. It can help when you've had a little memorial service or burial, to say goodbye. Play well over the rainbow bridge Harry.
