Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
That's a brilliant idea putting it in a pea - will have to remember that. I hope her passing is peaceful xxx

I'm glad you managed to get her the metacam & she's comfortable now.

Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
Well, I hope to goodness she was comfortable. It’s 2.30am here in the uk and I’ve been with her from 11pm:she’s having seizures. This is breaking my heart. This evening she hadn’t eaten anything and the fits started as I was replacing her food and water. Her eyes are shut tight so I really hope she’s not conscious of what’s happening but I assume this is her body shutting down. My poor poor little bean. Has anyone else ever seen this? I am desperate for her to slip away now; this is awful

Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
I'm so very sorry, it is very hard to see them like this I know, when my little Tinwê went to the bridge recently most of the time he was semi conscious & then clearly unconscious but he also had seizures or fits a few times though thankfully those didn't last long as it took him about 12 hours to finally go, all you can do is hold them, comfort them & talk to them, she is most likely unaware of what's happening to her now.
Hope she's at peace soon & you're ok.

Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
I am sorry - it is so hard. It sounds like she is unconscious - or going in and out of unconsciousness. See how she is later today. I had something similar with Charlie but he went on like this for a few days and then had a prolapse and I was concerned he was suffering (he didn't have metacam) so took him to the vets to be helped on his way - I really wanted him to go at home in peace in his cage - and it sounds like she may - but see how she goes xxx If she is unconscious she may not know much about it at all. And the metacam will be helping.

Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
Thank you I suppose I’ve just never seen the end of life like this before now. My husband is a doctor and says it often happens in final hours and it’s just the brain failing as they lose consciousness -and they won’t feel it or be aware of it- but it was so hard to see. At 6am she looked totally still but was breathing and I held her for four hours more until she finally slipped away mid morning. That took about 12 hours too, which felt like years.
I’m sorry to hear about little Tinwe and poor Charlie’s experiences. It’s been so so great having you guys’ support through this time. When I’m able I’ll post Dora’s story with some pics of her looking mischievous and with a ‘just out of bed’ hairstyle. I never dreamed when I rescued her what a journey we’d go on and how much she’d steal my heart.
Thank you again for all your support xxx

RIP Dora - play well over the rainbow bridge. I am so sorry for your loss Mary xxx Dora was lucky to have such a loving owner and to pass peacefully in her home.

I'm sorry this has been so hard for you, it is amazing how much they give us & the love we feel for them, she had a great life with you & she's at peace now.
Run free & play well at the bridge Dora.

Re: Weird lesions on Dora - vet unsure 😔
Hope you are ok - it hits really hard and is quite traumatic and gut wrenching. It can help when you’ve had a ceremony to say goodbye. Take your time over doing anything with her cage. You need to feel ready - I put a blanket over it until I was ready so it didn’t bother me too much.
