Smoke in the house- will my hamster be okay?
Hi all,
Me and my family were out and my mum left something in the oven while we were gone. Unfortunately, none of us knew that the oven was on so we didn't switch it off when we left. When we returned one and a half hours later, there was so much smoke in the house. Immediately I opened all the windows and doors but the smoke is taking a long time to go out the house. There wasn't exactly a fire but loads of smoke and burnt food.
My hamster was upstairs in a room with an open door but when I got upstairs the smoke was all there too and he was awake walking around. I covered my hamsters cage with a blanket to try protecting him from the smoke until it goes, but I think he must have been in the smoke for at least 20 minutes...Will he be okay?
I would really appreciate any advice

I’ve had something very similar happen before, all my hammies were completely fine!
