Mysterious bleeding :(
Hi all,
Not looking for any advice really, more for some comfort from other peoples' experiences! I've taken my approx. 1 year old syrian girl I've had for 3 months to the vets twice now, once to see a normal vet and then to come back and see the exotics specialist. I had been noticing tiny spots of blood on the bedding where she normally sleeps and of course immediately thought pyometra so rushed her to the vets. But after the two exams (where she had to be gassed as she's a bit too untamed to be handled!) they both agreed that they couldn't find anything. They even did a scan for pyometra but found no signs at all. She's been eating and drinking fine as well and there's been no change in herself. The vet made it seem like she thought it could be a UTI as they're very common but I haven't seen any blood mixed with urine, but I've been given anti-inflammatories and anti-biotics to give her for 2 weeks and to go back to the vets if the blood is still appearing.
I just want to know if anyone has had a similar experience with mysterious bleeding that the vets can't explain. I'm constantly worried now that she's going to get worse, and it's driving me a bit crazy!
Thanks

Re: Mysterious bleeding :(
Sorry to hear about your ham, it is worrying when you don't know exactly what the problem is & sometimes it can be hard to diagnose, apart from possible kidney/bladder stones it sounds as though the vet has thought of the most likely things although if they did a scan they might have seen those if that was the problem.
I hope the meds work & the problem will be resolved even if you don't know exactly what it is.

Re: Mysterious bleeding :(
Could it be coming from elsewhere? Pulled toenail? Sore pads? Bitten tongue? I'd check her closely all over and look for any signs.

Re: Mysterious bleeding :(
I'm pretty sure the vets must've had a thorough look, but unfortunately I don't think it's an external injury or anything Going to hope whatever it is will be cleared up by the medication and if not it's back to the vets! I'm not sure if they checked for bladder or kidney stones, will suggest that if I have to go back
