Default Seeking help in USA with Pyometra. Female Syrian

Hi all, my baby girl was diagnosed with Pyometra just about 5 days ago. Everything went down hill fast, I took her to a Corp hospital twice in four days and she is now on two kinds of antibio and two kinds of pain killer. She is pretty much now sleep 24h can walk with her back legs.

I am in the USA and I read post here some hammie owners had luck with baytril and galastop so I went to the vet again today and they said they have never heard such a thing and saying there is no information on this particular drug used in hamster so they refuse to prescrip me even 5 days dose. They only want surgery at a quote of $1100. I am so furious right now but I can’t go to another vet to start over again 1. She can’t take trips like this anymore each vet visit is killing her with back and forth travel and them poking her. 2. Even if I start over what’s the chance of the new vet would help prescripe me Cabergoline. I now confused if they don’t use Cabergoline in Pyometra case I’m the US or what.

Please instruct please I know surgery is the only cure but she isn’t stable for surgery. What should I do who should I go to get her galastop. She is very special full of personalities and she is only a year old I can’t lose her

I'm sorry she is so ill. If she has lost the use of her back legs it could be something else as this is not a normal symptom of pyo. There may be a tumour or something else that is causing this and affecting her control. It does sound as though she is gravely ill and I would look very closely at her life quality and prognosis. At this stage she is unlikely to survive surgery I'm sorry and the recovery would be very difficult for her. There are no guarantees with any meds or even surgery and with such tiny frail systems you just don't know. Not long ago we attempted surgery on our hamster who was 6 months and was thought to have a pyo but it turned out to be a twisted bowel and we had to let let her go sadly. We did try but even the trying was very very expensive. I would ask her what she wants and see if she gives you a sign. I hope her path is gentle wherever it leads.
