Hello, not sure if this is the best place for this post but I need some advice about my two boys who both have very long skirts.

My first boy, Cap, had such a long skirt it actually matted on both sides when I first had him. He was on woodshavings and I think this really contributed to the problem. I managed to comb him with a toothbrush nightly, cut off the matts and now he has carefresh and he hasn't matted since.
My second boy, Loki, has an even longer skirt, however he hasn't had a problem with matting as I have also kept him on carefresh and brush him too.

However a problem I have with both of them, which is that their number 2's occasionally cling on to their skirt and it makes the most unbelievable racket on their wheels! It wakes me and my partner up every night, I know it sounds crazy but it is so loud! I have them both on the 28cm Trixie wooden wheel, as the cork is the quietest material compared to the noise of their number 2's hitting plastic!

My question is, can I cut / trim their skirts if I do it carefully and gentle, and has anyone else ever had this problem?
Thanks

Here are some pictures

Both your hams are so cute! Your Loki looks just like my Bramwell!
I have occasionally had to lightly trim my Bramwell's skirt when it has grown a little to long and he has managed to get something caught in it such as substrate, which he couldn't remove by himself. I put a treat in front of him first so as to keep him still and happy and then very carefully (avoiding his tail and feet) trim his skirt using blunt ended safety scissors. I only cut a little at a time though so it doesn't stress him.
