Biting

I’ve got my baby in late July. we have a solid relationship, she eats out of my hand, asks to be picked up and trusts me. out of nowhere she gave me a pretty unexplainable bite. she’s only bite me once before.. I had rubber gloves on and it scared her. she shrieked and bite me. this time there was none of that it just seemed aggressive. she when straight back to playing after.

after she bite me I gave her a moment. let her sniff my scent and picked her up she was then fine. This stand your ground approach is great on predatory animals but she is a prey animal. can anyone give me insight on how to handle an aggressive hamster particular how to stop bad behaviors like this.

Hamsters aren't usually aggressive & it was probably a one off, they can get spooked by things we're not even aware of sometimes. If it does happen it's best to just try not to react at all if you can, any sudden movement of your hand or sudden noise can just scare them more.
Was she in the cage or out when she bit you?
