Re: New hamster possibly pregnant?
It sounds like she may have had them then or she would be more likely wanting to come out now and then. Must be very nerve-wracking and ups and downs. You should know fairly soon. Either pups will emerge or nothing will happen in the next couple of weeks and it may have been a false alarm. But still best to wait in case she has had them, so she doesn't get scared and possibly cull them. However, she moved nests recently. Was it before that you heard the odd squeak? It would seem strange for her to abandon the nest if there were pups in it. Or maybe she moved nests to have them.

Do you think I'm okay to clean out her toilet corner?
it's not close to her nest and is starting to get messy

Re: New hamster possibly pregnant?
I'd only do it if you can quickly use a bit of kitchen roll and scoop out the wet stuff then put in some fresh on top. Don't wash it or anything. Have you seen them out yet? If you can't get it out then just pile extra substrate on top of the wet area.

No, not yet, but if they were born when I think they were they would only be 7 days old

I would leave it a bit personally. The sometimes put substrate on top of it themselves if you leave it. If she’s had pups recently it’s quite a crucial time for not making her feel invaded. See what happens on the next week. Won’t do any harm to leave it a bit.
Must be awful wanting to know what’s what but time will tell.

Re: New hamster possibly pregnant?
It will be two weeks on Wednesday, will I be okay to look in the nest and see if there is anything then?

Re: New hamster possibly pregnant?
Is she still staying in the nest a lot. I would expect to have seen babies out and about by now. They will be fairly big with eyes opening shortly at 14 days. When she comes out for food can you use a torch to look inside the nest?

She's coming out more, the nest is really well hidden and quite hard to get to. I suspect any babies would struggle to get out
