Should I remove her wheel or not?
I'm worried about removing it and stressing her out as she loves it and has made her nest beside it, is it okay to leave it in if i make sure it's at a height no babies can get stuck under it or get on it?

How is it attached? Would it be easy to quickly remove should pups arrive. If she really is a very wheely hamster she may well neglect her pups to wheel. As we know when babies are due we remove around 14 days and give a huge heap pf bedding to sort out and nest in. You can often see the nipple lines about 14 days and the females get saggy bit under the armpits as the milk glands grow. They gain weight quickly as well from 12 days.
New hamsters often do chub up when they are no longer competing for food so it could certainly be that. I find males mature more slowly and don't really know what to so always so if she was in with a brother she may not have mated. It is a case of waiting. Put the wheel in the most accessable area so you can get it out easily. If this would not be possible without a major upheaval then it will need to come out as soon as you think she is definitely pregnant. Can you post a pic of her from above at all and of her tummy if she will stand up?

She's not tame so pictures are hard, I'll see if I can get her in a carrier tomorrow to get some

The wheel is attached to the bars by the door so not hard to remove. My concern is where she's built her current nest and the fact that her reaction to stress appears to be to climb the bars or hide behind the wheel

I'm just going to have to wait and see if she is or isn't but I'm now pretty sure she is a she so new name needed!

Tricky - if it's only been a week since you got here she is still settling in and feeling a bit scared by the sound of it. Not sure what Souffle thinks but I'd leave the wheel a bit longer until you think she does look pregnant (if she is) and let her having a bit of settling in without disturbance - at least for a few more days.

I'm definitely going to leave the wheel a few more days, I've given her lots of carefresh(which currently seems to be her chosen nesting material) and torn up toilet tissue so she can use what she wants

Time will tell She clearly loves the wheel if she's built her nest right there. Mind you our Syrian sometimes blocks his wheel from turning by piling lots of substrate there (from his tunnel).
