Default My hamster is bloated

Hi everyone, I’m new here and looking for advice. My daughters hamster is over 2 years old and has always been a lovely little character. Over the last couple of days he has ballooned. It’s from his back legs outwards. He doesn’t appear to be in pain and is still drinking and eating but less than normal. He has one eye closing over that I’ve tried to gently rub with a cotton bud.
Is this a sign of a disease? I know he’s getting to that stage in life but want to make sure he isn’t in pain and is comfortable.
Thank you

Very sorry to hear your ham has developed this problem, it could be a sign of several different things but it's impossible to guess which it might be, I would take him to the vet as soon as you can to get a proper diagnosis & see how the vet may help.
They are remarkably good at hiding signs of pain or illness being prey animals so it's best not to assume that they aren't in pain really.
