For 3 days, Oreo has been drinking and weeing loads - about 30-45ml a day! We've only had her two weeks, but obviously this was not usual behaviour so managed to get her to the vets (with a urine sample!) on Saturday.
Diabetes, kidney infection/disease and UTI all ruled out from the sample. Which leaves possible liver infection/disease or Pyo.
She's on antibiotics, and currently is happy in herself, but the vet did say that she wasn't sure what the next steps could be if the AB don't work.
She's only 5 months old, and had been in the pet shop for 3 months. We really wanted to give her a fab life to make up for being left for so long.
Does anyone have any experience of ABs working for this? I'm not sure I can face euthanising a baby hamster
