Dewey's Back Right Paw Not Working?
I've looked at other posts with similar problems, but am hoping to maybe get advice specific to my situation.
Yesterday, I noticed Dewey (male, Syrian, 10-ish months) wasn't putting any weight on his back right paw. When he walks, the paw stays tucked into his body or he drags it along. He still mobile though and can climb things. He's very good at being handled, so when I examined his leg, he didn't seem to be in any pain. I don't know if that's because he's very tame or what. :/
As for looks, it looks OK, but feels a little colder than the other paw.
My main concern is getting to a vet will be very hard for me because I work/ school full time and don't have a car and it's getting cold out. My parents would be my normal go-to for help, but they're out of the country until mid-October!
Until then, any advice on cage safety or comfort? He has a 2-level hybrid aquarium/wire cage. He rarely uses the ramp lol, opting even in his condition to hoist himself up the edge of the second level. I don't know if that will worsen his leg or not. The rest of him seems ok.
I messaged my parents because the plan was to use their vet (they have dogs, but the vet does hamsters too, I believe) for anything. They may contact her from where they are, but I don't know. I guess if his condition worsens, I'll make every effort to get to a vet.
In the meantime, is there anything I can do? Special foods I can feed him to manage pain or something? I've never had a health issue with a hamster before (other than old age) so I'm at a loss for what to do.

Re: Dewey's Back Right Paw Not Working?
general advice seems to be to take things he can hurt himself on out: wheels, ladders etc.
and if you have an aquarium or something else he cant climb, thats good, because wire cages are dangerous with an injured foot.
the most a vet can do is probably give him antibiotics or pain medication, but you should still take him ASAP.

Re: Dewey's Back Right Paw Not Working?
Thanks for the advice Adrien!
Update: I think I was really lucky and it was just a sprain. He's walking normally again now.
I'm not sure what caused it, though. That's a bit worrisome, it's a new cage after all, but at least he's better now.
