Default 'Wet' noise when breathing

25 months ish / Female / Dwarf

She's been making a 'wet' noise when she's breathing for the past 3 days.

Video of the noise (you may need to turn the volume up) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSDZe6QqdyU

- I was thinking she had some mucus in her nose but she is not making this noise all the time which confuses me.
- Her breathing can go from quite loud wet noises and her body looks like she's struggling to breathe to normal looking/sounding breathing in a very short time. She will stop the noise if I pick her up and cuddle her within minutes and she doesn't make this noise when she is sleeping.
- She does seem to rub at her nose but there is no visible runny nose or sticky eyes.
- Eating/drinking okay.
- She's still very active for a hamster of her age.

Any advice?

I would have her seen by the vets. It could be a respiratory infection and these can become quite serious. I hope you can arrange an appointment and she is better soon.

Yes, our hams are experiencing the exact same symptoms.
So strange that it is intermittent

Again, wishing your sweet ham a speedy recovery X
