Default Good sand product for hamsters?

I was about to re-order this chinchilla sand for my Syrian hammie since she loves it so much and always smells clean and looks fluffy (LINK ATTACHED). However, I double checked the reviews and some new comments said they re-formulated the sand to be a bit more dusty.. the manufacturer replied back to one customer and said the particles are smaller so their fur can be thoroughly cleaned...
I was scared when I read one hamster owner's review that her hamster died within the next 3 days of using this sand..

Can anyone give me their input if they have ordered from this manufacturer before??

And if not, can someone direct me to purchase the correct chinchilla/hamster sand?

Please and thank you!

I have used the Tiny Friends farm bathing sand and its been great! I got a new can and it smelled different (not a great smell) and looked very grey, I'm going to right a review on it. I will reply when I get a response.

Hi Delakeeks,
Ghost has this sand for his sand bath /toilet it does seem to be a new formulation and packaging, it does not affect Ghost in any way.
There is another product I have used, and because our local store seems to have stopped stocking it I have gone back to the Tiny Friends farm product. The product is Vitakraft Chinchilla Sandy which is sold in 1KG packs here in the UK.

I've been using the new sand since they changed it with all 3 of my hams & it's been fine, no problems at all.

mine are happy using the Tiny friends one that comes in the handy milk carton thing. i got a big generic bag from the local pet shop which was cheaper and much bigger and refilled the carton as the bag is messy.

Mine is new but uses this. I'm very allergic to dust so dusty things just set off my paranoia if not a full blown sneezefest. I think I have the new formula as my product is gray, but I don't find it dusty and it is the only thing my ham has decided is good enough for her wee :P

Anyway, I stuck my hand in when I first bought it just out of curiosity and I didn't find it dusty at all, as in there wasn't a film on my hands despite the sand being fairly fine. Your mention of these reviews gave me some worry so it's good to hear others haven't had problems.
