Roborovski deafness
Mottled robos are deaf. I've tested if robos react to sound. Wild coloured ones react to sound but mottled ones don't.

This may be the case in your hamsters however it is not overall correct. Mottled or Piebald as they are called in the UK appear to have normal hearing.
