Ok so I recently adopted a russian dwarf hamster, from a shelter a few hours away from my house and when we took her home she was fine and all. After 2 days when I started watching her, I noticed she was “scratching” quite a bit. Im not sure if she was grooming or not, but her fur looks fine and healthy. Allergies perhaps? If you know please tell me whats up
It could just be that she's been scent marking her new home a lot as she settles in that can lead to more grooming than normal & may look like scratching.
Allergies are possible, what substrate & food do you use?
