Default Is It Diabetes?

I recently made a post about my three month old winter- white's diabetes, where I mentioned he had high ketones and glucose.

However, the strange thing is that he doesn't have any other symptoms- he only drinks about 5 ml per day, doesn't urinate excessively, isn't losing weight, and doesn't have excessive hunger. He also still acts like a perfectly healthy, happy hamster.

To me, this seems unusual. Is there any possible explanation other than diabetes, or has anyone had a similar experience?

Thank you.

That does sound a little strange, I don't know of any other conditions that would show that, how frequently have you been testing his urine? Are the results consistent?

All the sticks have shown the same, and we have been testing him every few days. At first they only showed glucose, but now they show ketones too, but if I hadn't have tested him out of curiosity I wouldn't have known, because he has none of the symptoms.

Thank you for your response.

I really don't know what else it could be then sorry, I've never heard of a diabetic ham being asymptomatic.
Just a thought but have you tried using different batches of test sticks in case any are a bit dodgy?

I'm not sure I helped much at all really but good to hear the ketones have come down now.
