Default Hamster vomit?

Is there a way to add a photo to a thread? I found something strange in my hamster's food bowl, and I want to make sure he's not vomiting.

Ok, I think I figured it out. That greenish, flaky thing is not his food. I don't know what it is. Is this normal?

It looks like he's chewed and chewed something and left what remained of it. It doesn't look like vomit.

Looks like chewed up alfalfa pellets from his food that might’ve been pouched then unpouched - had a few dwarves do this before. Not vomit since they can’t.
Has he got enough to chew on in his cage? If not it could be a reason why he’s done this.

As mangoandmimi said hams can't vomit so definitely not that.
It does look like pellets that may have got wet, does your ham ever pee in the food bowl? If not then they probably have been chewed up a bit then discarded.

I agree with what the other members said. It does look like it may be some chewed up and discarded pellets.

Definitely some form of chewed up/wet pellets. As already mentioned, due to a hamster’s anatomy, they are incapable of vomiting. Most small rodents are as well. The muscles required to return the stomachal contents back up, cannot he contracted in rodents. Here’s a good explanation on why rats can’t vomit (it applies to hams as well)

Why rats can't vomit

It’s nothing I would worry yourself over. It looks like the pellet matter is the filler blocks in food, not well liked by hamsters! Best wishes

Thank you to everyone! I'm glad it's not something to be worried about. And it could be that he chewed up the filler blocks and didn't like them.
