Do you mean soap to use before and after handling your hamster.
Any soap is fine as long as you rinse well afterwards. Personally we prefer unscented simple soap.

Or for the cage to clean it? Just warm water will do unless there's been disease or infection. What country are you in?

Unless you or your ham are ill then you really don't need an antibacterial soap, try to find an unscented soap if you can.

You need to be very careful about what you use for cleaning hamster cages or items as yes - hamsters have a very strong sense of scent and scents can very much affect them - or they can be allergic or it can cause breathing difficulties. Also dust can cause similar issues.

If you're wanting to disinfect a cage before using it the first time you'd need to use pet-safe disinfectant - then rinse it all really well just in plain water a few times and leave it to air for a few days ideally so all trace of scent is gone. There may be some that don't have scent.

Generally though - a cage doesn't need disinfecting - you can just use a bit of washing up liquid in water - but still rinse and dry really well.

Once a hamster is in a cage you want to avoid too many cage cleans as they scent mark the cage with their own scent - this makes it their territory and it also helps them find their way around (following their scent trail) because they don't see well.

Assuming it's a first time disinfecting of a cage before putting a hamster in then this one looks ok. But after using it do rinse it really well in water until all traces of it have gone and the scent has gone.

For bedding and substrate (for the bottom of the cage) you need to be careful too. Soft Wood shavings shouldn't be used unless it says they are kiln dried and dust extracted on the packet. They can contain high levels of phenols. Cedar is a no-no.

Good substrate/litter for the bottom of the cage could be - aspen (found in reptile shops), paper based or cardboard based litter, or hemp.

A good 4 to 6 inches deep of litter and then you can just "spot clean" (remove the odd handful and replace it occasionally) to avoid stressing the hamster. That way you only need to do a full cage clean much less often (to avoid stressing the hamster) - and best not to clean everything at the same time. Eg litter one week, any houses or toys another week. Wheel another week.

For nesting material the best thing is plain white toilet paper torn into strips. A big pile of it in the cage and the hamster will take it to build a nest.

They need a house that is dark inside to hide in and feel safe. A cardboard tissue box with the base cut out and sat on top of the litter (so it's open underneath) is fine - just cut a hole for a door.

Fresh water every day, something to chew on to help their teeth (chew sticks for hamsters eg). A wheel that is at least 6" in diameter and has a solid running track (mesh wheels aren't safe).

For the first two weeks they need to settle in and scent mark so no cleaning during that two weeks (maybe the odd spot clean after a week) and try not to move things around or change things for a while. They get stressed very easily and this can lead to illness and disease.

Always wash your hands before doing anything in their cage - to protect them from catching things from humans and also so you don't smell too tasty and the hamster thinks you are food! So just simple soap that isn't flowery or honey scented eg.

Hope this helps. Do you have a cage organised? A cage for a small dwarf hamster should not be to high/tall as there can be fall risks and risk of injury if they climb the bars to the top. 30 to 35cm height is ok with plenty of litter for cushioning falls. Bar spacing must be 1cm or less.
