Syrian Hamster Sick?
Hello, I know that I have some experience with hamsters, but I've dealt with different type of hamsters. Right now I have a female Syrian hamster. I clean and change her food often, and play with her, but recently she seem to be acting a little different. Her fur seems a little oily/wet, cold, and when I come over to her cage when she's normally active, she seem barely awake and remain in her position. When she does moves a little, she starts to shake a little like the hamster in this video:
She's a pretty young hamster too. I've gotten her from the pet store a little over a month already.

Re: Syrian Hamster Sick?
The video won't play for some reason but your ham doesn't sound well.
How is her eating & drinking, pee, poo etc. any changes there?
What's the temperature in the room where you keep her?
it's impossible to say from your description what may be wrong with her but if nothing in her environment has changed & the temperature in the room is within a reasonable range (around 20C is ok) then it would probably be best to take her to the vet & get her checked out.

Re: Syrian Hamster Sick?
She died last night before this post was put up and before any of the local vets opened up.

Re: Syrian Hamster Sick?
I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds as if she suddenly became very ill and there was nothing you could have done to help.
Run free at the bridge little one
