Hamsters and ice?
Due to this heat, my hamsters have been looking warm.
I've read online that putting ice int the hamster's cage on a small bowl can cool them down.
I've put the bowl by their food bowl which is in the centre of the cage and by their wheel.
They've seemed happier, perkier and using their wheel more.
Sometimes just resting by the ice bowl.
However, I've noticed them licking the ice too.
Could it be bad for them? it's just cold water
They don't seem to be affected badly and even a look like they like it.
Only doing it for like a few licks.
I don't have air conditioning and only a small fan to cool down the room.
I thought I'd share it as an idea for others in this weather.

Re: Hamsters and ice?
Personally I wouldn't put ice in the cage, it's better to try to keep the room cool if that's difficult then you can put cooled items like mugs, terracotta or ceramic tiles in the cage but chilled rather than frozen.
