Default Bald patches on his belly?

So tonight about 8PM I went into Bambi's room to do his food and water, I usually do them before he wakes up. He usually gets up at 8:30 - 9PM. I noticed that he was already awake which wasn't that unusuall since it's been hot the last few days. He was in his sand cleaning himself so I left him alone while I did his food and water.

When I come back he was at the front of his cage scratching at the plastic like he usually does when he wants to come out for play time. However, when he crawled on my hand I could feel that his belly was really wet and almost sticky? He let me turn him onto his back and have a look but he wouldn't stay still for long... It looks like he's going bald on his belly, his bottom looks fine so I don't think it was anything to do with that.
I know hamsters can sometimes lose fur as they get older but what worried me more was that he was wet. I don't know if hamster sweat or not, it's been really hot lately so I'm worried.

I took his sand and his cup out of his cage and put them in the freezer for a bit so he could cool down if he was too hot but i'm just worried because he's been completely fine for the last few days but today he just has a bald patch? Other than that he's eating and acting normal, he's letting me stroke him so I don't think that he's in any pain but i'm not 100% sure.

Suggest keep a close eye on him as he may be starting to get Cushings disease which is the over production of Cortizol from the adrenal glands. Quite often the fist signs are baldness/bald spots, also if his scent glands are over producing they can look wet too.

It may worth a visit to the vet\

That would have been his scent gland, they can get blocked so make sure it's not crusty or anything like that, not sure why he would be losing fur there unless he's been scent marking a lot of over grooming the gland area. Keep an eye on it for now & see how it goes, if it does get crusty or blocked you can bath it with saline to see if that will clear it, if there's any swelling he may need to see the vet.

Others have already given good advice. I agree that you should probably take him to a vet to make sure it's nothing serious. I hope your hammy is healthy and doing well x
