Testicles?
So, my kids keep telling me about a ‘circle’ they see near the hamster’s tail when he wakes up in the morning (he always wakes up to get a treat before the kids go off to school). I’ve never seen it and it always goes away. A few minutes ago, he woke up and sleepily started mooching around his cage with what looks like quite sizeable testicles sticking out just under his tail. Are they testicles and is it normal for them to appear and disappear? Not looking forward to explaining this one to the children 😬

Re: Testicles?
I read somewhere they can retract them when they are cold and let them out if not. Im pretty sure its perfectly normal.

Re: Testicles?
It sounds normal. They are more prominent when they get hot. It's how they regulate temperature to their testicles, as I understand it. So if he's all snug and toasty in his best then the fact he's a boy will be a bit more, err, obvious! You could just tell the kids it's his way of not overheating and leave it at that, if that's a conversation you don't fancy having....
