Thank you everyone, he has taken his antibiotics like a lamb and had all his porridge and a piece of courgette in the night. He looks peaceful this morning. Not for long... Eye drops time! He's such a sweet little chap, he only nipped me and the vet once yesterday very gently as we were trying to examine him and do his nails. I was glad to see he was just as wriggly for the vet as He is for me!

The eye drops must be pretty unpleasant for both of you but it's good to hear he still has some fight in him Glad he's peaceful the rest of the time & still enjoying his food.

I am glad that he is taking his antibiotics so well, eating, and still maintaining a bit of feistiness, too. Hopefully, the applications of his eye drops will go smoother soon. It is good that the vet did trimmed his nails for you, too. That could be a hardship for you as I have been having a hard time doing Eros's nails. She is a little wiggle worm when she wants to be, lol.

Thanks cypher and dreamtree. I was so happy yesterday because after checking on Bailey and disturbing him he had a little run on his wheel! He's not done that since last week. The antibiotics seem to be shrinking the lump so perhaps it was an abscess after all. Anyway he seems perfectly happy in his nest and coming out for porridge and veg. Wiggle worm, dreamtree, that's so funny. When I was holding him at the vets he managed to wriggle so much in my hand that he turned right round trying to burrow while the vet was still hanging on to his leg, it was really funny.

Aww, that is such amazing news, Herbi!!! I'm so thrilled and relieved that your darling Bailey had a lovely run on his wheel yesterday and his lump is shrinking. Yippee!!! I am overwhelmed with happiness that things are definitely looking up for you and your precious, little ham trooper. He is one tough cookie so determined to recover from all that is ailing him; bless him. It sounds like he gave you and the vet quite a funny and noteworthy experience; lol, Mr. Bailey is quite the burrowing, wiggle worm, too, I see. He is such a lovable character, and I am so thankful that he is recovering so well. Hugs to you and LOTS of snuggling cuddles for Bailey, too. Eros also sends her congratulatory high-four (since hams only have four digits in their front paws) and plenty of whisker kisses to one of her idols for being so extra super, lol. . . . .

That's great news herbi, I'm so pleased for both of you
Fingers crossed the antibiotics will do the trick & clear the lump completely now.

Thanks everyone. He's doing ok although he's a bit quiet today and let me investigate his eye which he has picked at and made sore again . The lump is still going down though. I might try and bathe his eye with warm water as its stuck shut again. Actually saw it open for the first time yesterday! He's still taking his antibiotics in his porridge which makes things easier

I'm glad that the lump is still going down and you saw his open eye for the first time yesterday. That is wonderful. It sad that he managed to injure it and seal it shut. Hopefully, he will leave it alone, the meds will continue to do their job, and he will soon be healed and healthy.
