"Lump" on testicle, is this normal? Please help!

First time hamster owner, I noticed tonight my hamster's rear looked a little "dirty" and now one testicle is significantly larger than the other even when he's standing/running, won't retract when he stands, and very red. Is this normal? He's about seven months old. I'm familiar with other rodent anatomy but not hamsters, and I've found pictures of testicular tumors that look similar and then other photos that look similar that are apparently normal for male hamsters... does anyone have any idea? I'm freaking out a little because I'm leaving town for a few days in the morning and have no idea if he should see a vet. He's acting like usual, running on his wheel and active.

That doesn't look right to me. They can get various problems down there including skin infections, tumours, orchiditis and many are treatable when caught early so I would have him seen by the vets as soon as you can. Good luck and let us know how he does.
Normal testicles can move up and down and stick out oddly sometimes like peanuts under the skin especially when they are warm but the rough area on his should not be there.

I would definitely take him to the vet; I hope he is doing better soon.
