Help! Hamster fall
Last night, my hamster fell onto laminated floor and curled into a ball on impact, presumably in shock. I cupped my hands around him, keeping him still, and after about ten seconds he suddenly hopped back to life again so I hastily placed him back in his cage. He seems to be behaving normally since, but the thing that I'm concerned about is that when he hit the floor he excreted some creamy/nearly yellowish liquid from his rear end. I think he's been licking that area more than normal, and when I took him out of his cage tonight I notice a dot of the same fluid from his penis. Any ideas why that fluid would have come out when he fell, and what is it most likely to be (urine or semen)? Is it possible he's damaged his bladder or testicles, and should I be doing anything about this or wait and see what happens? Thanks for your help

Re: Help! Hamster fall
It's difficult to know. It's good he seems back to normal. This could be some kind of shock reaction but it might be an idea to have a vet check just to check for any injuries or cause of this.

Re: Help! Hamster fall
I mentioned it to a vet today and she said to bring him in if I'm worried but it was probably the impact of the fall. He's doing fine right now so I think he's ok. Thanks for your help X
