Please help my hamster
A few days ago, my male syrian hamster somehow escaped his cage while i was taking a nap and broke into my male winter white's cage. I don't know how long he was in there but I took him out and returned him to his cage immediately. I noticed that my ww's eye was pink and i thought i would give it a few days to heal but it seems to have gotten worse because a white spot appeared on his eye. My syrian probably injured my ww and I'm really confused on what to do. I can't tell if this is just an eye infection or its something more serious because Im a beginner.
PLS LMK if its an eye infection because i read that manuka honey treats that well or if its more serious and i should take him to the vet.
***it would be helpful to suggest some exotic vets in Brooklyn cause I'm having trouble finding any.

Re: Please help my hamster
I am SO sorry that this happened to you and your precious hams. I would definitely suggest having an exotic vet see your winter white as soon as possible. Unfortunately, exotic vets are difficult to find in the U.S. If you can't see an exotic vet, I would at least make an appointment with a good vet in the area. I wish I could suggest a vet there, but I'm not from that area. Hopefully, other members will be able to refer you to one they know of in that area. Good luck, and I will be praying that your ww's eye heals completely and soon. Hugs to you.

Re: Please help my hamster
Sorry to hear this has happened, don't try to put anything in the eye though, this really does need to be seen by a vet, I have no idea about vets in your area either but I hope you can find one soon & your ham recovers well.

Re: Please help my hamster
Hope he gets better soon.
I would have a good look and find out how he got out of his cage and into the other cage, so you can stop it happening again.
Your Syrian could try again and injure your ww even more or possibly kill him.

Re: Please help my hamster
Oh gosh i'm so so sorry for you. That eye really doesn't look too good. As others have said i would try and see at least an experienced regular vet asap even if you cannot see an exotic - although as you know it is preferable if you can see an exotic. Don't just try to treat this yourself. Sorry i can't recommend any in your area. Good luck and let us know how your hammy does.
