Is he sick ?

Hi! Thank you for all your messages. Yes, I do think I might have been feeding him to little food so now I'll feed him a little more everyday.
I clean his cage with a month or month and half intervals. When I clean his cage I always save or replace the hoard and put it back where it was after.
I don't have chew toys at the moment but I do have some hard nuts that he can chew on.ill try that and maybe I'll take him to the vet to see.

I thought I had already sent this but oh well ! Thank you for all your messages. I think the problem was that I wasn't feeding him enough so now I'll feed him everyday and a little more than usual. I clean his cage about once every month and half and I don' remove his hoard, I either replace it or keep the food and put it in same place I found it before. I don't have any chew toys but I do have some hard nuts I can give him. And I'll maybe take him to the vet if that doesn't work out, just so the vet could see him.

weight loss is a common sign of ageing just keep an eye on him and if it gets worse consider taking your hamster to the vet.

ageing would be unlightly but it is a possible cause. but because the weight loss is so sudden it could be something else try seeing what they do at night to see if you can find an answser to the wetness

I would see how he goes with plenty of food over the next few days to a week, if he isn't beginning to gain weight by then get the vet to have a look at his teeth.
It does sound as though he must have been eating so hopefully the teeth aren't a problem but keep a close eye on how he's doing.
