Red spot - front paw
Hello everyone, I was playing with my Loki today and I noticed a tiny red spot on his front paw. It is really small, hard to see and it is right next to the claw. He seems to be walking just fine, he takes food into his paws like he always had.
I will keep an eye on it, but it can be tricky to see, since he is always on the move!
Do you have any idea what that could be? Or maybe they can have a bit more dark pink skin on their "palms"? I dont know. Should I go to the vet? I will try to take a picture if i can.

Could it be a small cut? If you can get a photo that would help, maybe pop Loki into a glass jar so you can get a good look underneath, I would just keep an eye on it, if it shows any signs of getting worse or not healing then you may need to go to the vet.

Re: Red spot - front paw
I think it was a small cut too, i checked him this afternoon and I could not find it and he walks just fine. I will keep checking though, just to make sure. Luckily, there are many nonstop clinics in my city (or at least they work on the weekends as well).
Thanks for the tip with glass jar and help, I got so scared!

Re: Red spot - front paw
It does sound as though it may have been a little cut or scratch then, it's only natural to worry but good to hear he seems fine now.
It's worth checking over things in the cage regularly just to see if anything has developed any rough edges with wear or chewing. Some substrates like wood shavings or hemp can sometimes have sharper bits in so it could be something like that too.
