Default Hamster rubbing on things?

Hello! I have a winter white called Marble, I'm not sure how old she is, but I got her in November 2017, so she's not very old.
Recently, she has been rubbing her bottom/crotch along this wooden chew stick I have in her cage and also the edge of her stairs. I'm not sure if she's marking her scent or not because it's only on those two items and she's doing it every time she passes them.
If she is trying to itch or has problems with her crotch, how would I be able to check as she is very comfortable with being held but I'm not sure how to check.
Thanks

Default Re: Hamster rubbing on things?

I'm really not sure from your description which it may be tbh, when scent marking they mostly rub their faces on things or kind of lie flat & drag across things to use the scent gland on their abdomen so it may be that it is something other than scent marking, if she's happy to be held just try to look underneath & see if there's any signs of irritation anywhere. Is she peeing & pooing ok?
