Exclamation Too much veggies?

Hi guys, I am a bit concerned about my syrian's droppings
They used to be quite solid and dry when I went there and removed them, and I must say that I rarely gave veggies to my ham for a while (not for health reasons)
But since I've been giving him daily veggies his droppings are softer, not diarrhea kind of soft, they just look "fresh" as you would expect poop to be
Now my concerns are: was his poop normal before or is it normal now? I hope someone more experienced can help me on this, maybe I could slow down on the veggies with smaller portions again but I can say that he just eats as much as he wants
Also my boy stores/poops in his nest box and I don't want the food to go bad because of the humid droppings
Thanks a lot in advance!!

How much & which veg are you giving?
It can take them a while to adjust to veg in their diet so if you haven't given any for a while your ham may need to get used to it again so best to give just a tiny piece once every few days then gradually build up to a small piece daily, that should avoid any problems .

Im still not in the habit of giving veggies daily so don't worry you're not alone!
My syrian usually gets a small piece of veg 3 or 4 times a week like some cucumber, bell pepper or broccoli. When I first started increasing his intake from nothing his poos got softer so I just cut back on the portions a bit until he could handle more e.g half slice of cucumber at a time instead of a whole one.

Also I wouldn't worry about him storing poos in his house I think most hams do. They generally eat them to get all the nutrients out the second time round.
As long as his house is well ventilated and not made of plastic it shouldn't get too sweaty in there . You can always spot clean some of the softest poos but it's fine to leave the rest

I mostly give him romain lettuce, broccoli, carrots, also other safe lettuce kinds, pumpkin, endive and sometimes parsley but i don't know if that counts as veggies or herb
I usually give him 2 different vegs in small pieces so let's say for example a carrot slice and a lettuce leaf as big as his head I don't know how else to say it

I think i will just slow down and give him smaller portions until his stomach can handle it better, we'll both be happier since i won't be checking that often his hoard to remove softer droppings
Also what material would be better to avoid humidity build-up? He currently has a plastic house

Thanks to both for helping!!

The problem with plastic houses is that they can build up humidity inside and 'sweat' which can make the bedding damp and musty smelling.
A shoebox without a base and a doorway cut into it works great. It's well ventilated, allows a nice deep layer of bedding for them to make nests in and is cheap too.
Once it starts to get smelly you can just replace it with another one.
Wooden houses without a base can work alright too, but they may chew on it and it would need to be sealed with a non toxic layer all over like Plasticote to stop pee from soaking in and ruining the wood.

As for the veg maybe try giving him just one piece of vegetable at a time until his tummy gets used to it.

I actually removed the top from his house and turned it upside down (i find it easier to clean and it also gives a larger floor) so it doesn't have a base, and it has a window on the side, but i might be looking for a wooden house that isn't too pricey because i really like them, my ham is not a chewer and he's never peed inside the nest but rather always in a corner of the cage so i wouldn't even need to protect the wood I guess
Although we'll have to wait because I'll be changing his cage in days and he doesn't really like having his stuff moved around

Those veg sound fine although I wouldn't give too much lettuce, once or twice a week is plenty, it may be that you just reintroduced the veg too quickly as I said before, so maybe cut back a bit now then reintroduce more slowly.
